hi doctor my son 3 years old have fever afternoon onwards..repeating every 4 hours what does is it fever viral or normal

A. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundreds or more is considered as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water. higher mediciness (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.

A. Repeat the medicine after six hours not four hours that’s way too early and it could be just a normal fever to viral fever what you can do is you should give medicines for three days max if the fever does not subside completely by then then you go for a blood test but currently we cannot say whether it is normal or a viral fever
