Hi doctor My baby is 3 months old and is on exclusive breastfeeding. He is passing gas but hasn't pooped in last 3 days. Im giving him massage and tummy time as well but it doesn't help. Please help with a remedy #asktheexpert

ExpertDr Disha PatelAyurvedic Physician2 years agoA. Hello, typically breastfed babies will not poop as often because their bodies absorb most of the breast milk. going even a week without having a bowel movement is consider normal

Jasmine KaurMom of a 9 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. Hello dear parent, babies upto 6 months of age can hold their poop for 7 days but beyond that period you must consult with your paediatric once. To prevent this situation you must burp your baby after every feed by holding him in upright position and massage his back for 20 mins and 4 burps. As this actually helps in releasing gas and prevents colic pain. Good luck and take care
