It’s quite normal for some babies, even as young as four months old, to have fine facial hair called lanugo or vellus hair, which usually falls off naturally over time. It’s best not to remove this hair at such a young age, as the baby’s skin is very sensitive and delicate. Shaving or using any hair removal products can cause irritation or injury. Just keep your baby’s skin clean and moisturized, and the hair will typically disappear on its own within a few months. If you notice any unusual skin changes or the hair seems thick or patchy, consult your pediatrician for advice.
