Hey dr., For 2.7 years kids is it necessary flu vaccine. Already taken vaccine influenza or any other.Recently one dr. suggested give to flu vaccine. could you please tell me what is the name of flu vaccine. thanks!

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. Influenza vaccine or the flu vaccine is basically a vaccine which protects against different strains of flu viruses including swine Flu virus which causes symptoms specially in children because of less immunity.
Though it is not a mandatory vaccine but it should be given to every child to protect against different flu infection which is very common every year . this vaccine is given after 6 ftymonths of age and initially two doses are given one month apart then every year single dose is required .
It is not documented but still studies suggest that to some extent it hmay give partial protection against covid infection .
