Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. mmr stands for measles mumps and rubella.
you have to give three dosage of this vaccine at 9 months of age then at 15 months of age and at 5 years of age.
vitamin a is usually given along with mmr vaccine.
at present government covers only mr vaccine while in private mmr vaccine is available.
mr vaccine stands for measles and rubella.
at present in government set up only mr vaccine so mumps is not covered in mr vaccine.
meningococcal vaccine is an optional vaccine. it is usually given either at 9 months of age and one year of age as a a 2 dosage regimen or you can go for a single dosage after two years of age.
your doctor is the best person tod tell you whether it is required by your child or not.
my personal advice would be that if you can afford the vaccine you should get the child vaccinated for any disease for which vaccine is available
