A. At 21 weeks and 4 days, the estimated fetal weight of 422 grams (with a margin of error of ±62 grams) is within the normal range for this stage of pregnancy. Typically, at around 21 weeks, the average fetal weight is approximately 360 to 430 grams. Your baby’s weight being 422 grams falls comfortably within this range, indicating that your baby is developing normally. The margin of error (±62 grams) is also a standard part of ultrasound weight estimates, reflecting the natural variability in measurements. ### Key Points: - **Normal Range:** At 21 weeks, the average fetal weight is approximately 360 to 430 grams. - **Your Baby’s Weight:** 422 grams (±62 grams) is within this normal range. - **Margin of Error:** Ultrasound measurements can have a margin of error, and small variations are usually not a cause for concern. ### Monitoring Fetal Growth: - **Routine Ultrasounds:** Continue with regular prenatal check-ups and ultrasounds to monitor your baby’s growth and development. - **Healthy Pregnancy Habits:** Maintain a balanced diet, stay hydrated, and follow your healthcare provider’s advice to support your baby’s growth. ### When to Consult Your Doctor: - **Concerns About Growth:** If you have any concerns about your baby’s growth or development, discuss them with your healthcare provider. - **Follow-Up:** Your doctor may recommend additional ultrasounds or tests if there are any concerns about fetal growth. Overall, it sounds like your baby’s growth is on track. Regular check-ups and following your healthcare provider’s advice will help ensure a healthy pregnancy.
