Q.

Hello doc How to collect urine sample of 7 month old baby for culture ? Should it be the first urine in the morning? But as baby is too small she wears diaper during night how and what should be the first morning urine ? What’s the proper way to collect urine sample ?

A. discard the first few drops collect the mid stream in the bottle maintain hydration and keep a track on urine output maintain hygiene in the area clean with Luke warm water

A. We too faced same issue few weeks back. it's very hard to collect urine for 7montb old baby. My doctor didn't insist us to collect first urine in the morning.anytime is fine i think. we got urine collection bag for collecting urine for baby.after she passed urine,we put it in sterilized box and give it to them.
