it is avoided till 12 months because the kidneys are not mature enough to process added salt

Yes salt and all the necessary spices should be given to the child and food because that is how you’re going to develop develop a proper flavour into the food that you’re giving to a child and it’s totally fine there is no problem as this way your child will eat well and that is what is important
