#AsktTheExpert My 1 year 10 days old can walk independently to small distance, tries to stand without support, plays, laughs, says few words like ca for car, ba for bye, mm for water, etc when she sees them. she recognizes who papa, mumma are by looking at us or handing over things when we say so. She will say papa or didi when we ask her to do so and mostly looks at right person while saying. but she herself does not call people on her own with names like initiating papa rather makes sounds to gain their attention. Worried when will he start calling us on her own. please suggest is this age appropriate

A. Hello dear parent! Few babies have delay in their milestones and it is normal as long as baby is active and healthy. Communicate more with your child. Keep telling stories. Give some family pictures and encourage to respond and recognise. If you are still concerned then consult your doctor for further advice,
