A. Dear parent, based on a birth weight of 2.24 kg, weight of 8.6 kg is a healthy weight for 1 year old child. Baby should triple the birth weight by one year or earlier which your baby has already achieved. So, do not worry. Now you can give all family foods to your child the way you prepare at your house. Give homemade balanced diet having variety of food groups especially seasonal fruits and vegetables even green leafy vegetables. You can give eggs and non veg food. Add powdered nuts like almonds to baby’s food. Use full cream milk to prepare recipes like porridge, kheer and give as milk products like curd, paneer, cheese. Give top food 4 to 5 times a day and up to one katori every time. Continue to breastfeed.
