Q.

#asktheexperts My son is 7 months old. Last 17.04.2024 Influenza and Typhoid vaccine given. His weight then was 6.870 kg. But today his weight is 6 kg. Means in these 18 days his weight has decreased by 870 grams. Is this something scary? His birth weight was 2.575 kg. From birth till date he eats mother's breast milk and from 6 months of age he eats homemade food. But this last 1 week he is eating little less. His weight loss is something to fear?

A. As long as they're meeting developmental milestones, are alert and active, and are feeding well, you likely don't need to worry. Consistent growth — not exponential growth — is the key to baby's well-being.
