John VincentFather of a 3 yr 8 m old boy3 years agoA. Hello there,
My boy had high 20 bilrubin level .
And after hospitalising him they discharged him yesterday saying he has started taking normal feed and bilrubin levels lowered to 12.But yellow eyes still pertains .And suddenly his lips are turning black because we used wipe his wet cotton cloth after every feeding or is it due to the photo therapy he had .

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy3 years agoA. there is always a chance of neonatal jaundice in small children within one or maximum 2 weeks of birth in whichf the skin as the eyes may appear yellow.
you have to meet the doctor for evaluation of the jaundice.
normal simple jaundice will gfo away on its own with only breastfeeding but if it is more your doctor will advise phototherapy.c
the yellowness from the eyes may take around 1 to 1 and half month to totally go away.

RashmiMom of a 11 yr 1 m old girl3 years agoA. U Continue doing that and also give vitamin D supplement to the child I am sure your doctor must have advised you to go for one because that is also equally important for a child to be taken so just Do both the things together and it is going to be better still if you have a doubt then please get it assessed with your doctor
