#asktheexperts My newborn 12 days old baby is sleeping for almost 20-22 hours everyday. She hardly gets up . I’ve to wake her up for feeds. Is that normal?

ExpertDr.Sabiha AnjumObstetrician and Gynaecologist2 months agoA. Yes, it is absolutely normal for a newborn baby to sleep for a minimum of 14 hours in a day and as the baby grows eventually the baby will have longer periods of wake cycles.
