#asktheexperts my kid us having cold since 2 week now , it is not reducing. she will be fine in day but in night she is having blocked nose.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if afny fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temuiperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
