Q.

#asktheexperts my baby was fair at the time of birth and continued in the same skin tone for 4 days until he kept under photo therapy. After that his skin tone changed to dark. he was treated for high bilirubin (19) and kept under light for 3 days. now he is 20 days old and still has the dark undertone. If the darkness is due to photo therapy how long will it take to get his original skintone.

A. This is a very big misconception people have that phototherapy making your child dark but it’s not like that every child has its own complexion which is based on the genetics and changes for first six months or so and after that your child is going to retain and take its generic complexion which is natural it is nothing to do with phototherapy
