Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cough and Cold needs to be treated only after a proper examination by a doctor after the exact cause is diagnosed.it may be any infection or it may be allergic too.it may not be related to food items or climate but seasonal changes may aggravate the susceptibility to get infected .
maintain good immunity of the child with proper diet and supplements.
if associated with fever too, calpol can be given three times a day..
As the first line of treatment, give steam inhalation which would be of great help .to relieve blocked nose nasoclear drops can also be used multiple times.
Cough Syrup or nebulization should be given only after a proper evaluation according to the type of cough .self medication may not be so helpful so please consult your doctor once. if the cough is productive you can giveht brozeet-ls or ambrodil syrup for now only n continue only after doctor's advice.avoid refrigerated items and give simple home-mvade preparations a required.child may not be interested in food due to altered sensations of taste bud in illness will gradually begin to eat as symptoms resolve.
