Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. it is very common that during the illness the child will not take food.
give small amount of easily digestible food to the child
many times if you take the child in garden or open area that will cheer up the child and that might improve the appetite
give regular water and and fluids to the child to improve hydration because that will also improve appetite
you can give fruits as well as juices from the fruits which again acts as appetizer
during illness if the child takes 60% to 70% of the diet then also it's fine

Some good foods during fever are nutritious broths, cereal with milk, soft fruits, khichdi, boiled vegetables, and mashed curd rice. You can also feed your child a mixture of crushed nuts (almond, cashews, etc.) with milk. Make sure you include protein-rich foods in his diet, like milk, eggs, and dal.
