Q.

#AskTheExpert our baby is 10 days old. he doesn't wake up for feed in the night. even if we try to wake him up by tickling his feet he would wake up but once feed is kept, he would immediately go into sleep. he just latches once and immediately goes into sleep. during the daytime he takes active feed. kindly help us know if we have to forcefully make him feed 2 - 3 hours once at night?

A. you have to give only demand feeding to the child that is whenever the child feels hungry you can give milk to the child and the child will take the milk zaccording to the need and then will leave the milk. if the child is taking more milk you can offer milk in more quantity with intermittent burping . there is no zneed to to go for hourly feeding pattern. also there is no need to wake up the child from sleep if the weight of the child is within normal limits .
