#AskTheExpert . My twin babies are 3 month old. One of them was IUGR with oligohydrominos. Baby delivered at 35 weeks of gestation by LSCS. First 8 days baby was normal. But on 9 th day of delivery baby got subtle seizures first time. We treated it as GERD for about 1 week but the seizures didn’t reduce. So we did EEG MRI &blood investigation as Sr. ionised calcium, magnesium, Sr. calcium, Sr. electrolytes. All the reports are normal. Then we admitted him and started injection Gardenal and gardenL syrup. Baby was fine. But then we visited to neuropediatrician Dr Umesh Kalani. He added syrup levipil. Baby was totally fine for 1&1/2 month. But dr kalani stopped syrup Gardenal and baby got seizures within 5 days and we admitted again and given injection Eptoin. And dr kalani suddenly stopped syrup levipil. Baby discharged on day 5 . The next day he got 5 seizures episode at home. Again we admitted and given eptoin injection. Now baby is orally on syrup Gardenal 2.5 ml. Syrup valparin 1 mlBD . What is the best treatment for my baby. Please suggest and does seizures cause mental retardation?? Baby weight is 4.5 kg now

Seizures directly do not cause any mental retardation but you need to consult a Neuro physician n itself and you have to be in touch with them constantly and they will help you further￼Write Your Answer Here

APGAR? Well, this looks ok but avoid self medication. try giving proper diet n don't miss on dose in this. see more you can ask your own treating doctor. i am sure they will solve all your doubts and guide you
