#asktheexpert My son who is almost 5 months, is recently pooping 3-4 times a day out of which one is usually runny.. Is it diarrhea?

loose watery stools is considered normal in babies.
Some amount of foam is due to gas along with poop
u check for any foul smell or any change in color and consistency of poop.
If only loose stool u can give zinc drops Z and D drops 1ml once a day and satchets of Econorm/ enterogermina/syp darolac or any other probiotics for 3 days.
Give ORS
Fever with pain in abdomen if present can b due to infection n needs a doctor consult soon

usually it is normal among breastfed babies to pass stool once in 7 days or 10 times in a day with runny or watery consistency.
so if your child looks happy healthy and active, gains enough weight then no need to worry about anything.
