A. Hello! In order to increase weight in a healthy way, include nuts, dry fruits, dals, paneer, tubers like potato and sweet potato in your child's meals. Give her small and frequent meals. Monitor her water intake and sleep schedule.

A. The average weight of a 5 years old girl should be around 18 kg. But if your daughter is active and is eating well and is meeting all the required milestones, then there is no need to worry about food. Give her whole cow's milk and milk products like ghee in small amounts, butter, cheese, curd and paneer. Give one boiled egg per day. Give fruit milkshakes and fruit smoothies and add dry fruits powder to them. Give plain nuts like walnuts, cashew nuts, almonds, peanuts and raisins. Give cheesy potatoes and sweet potatoes. Give bananas, avocados, pears, papaya, apples, pineapple, and mangoes. Give chickpeas and green peas. Give ragi and brown rice. Give peanut butter. Give almond milk, soy milk and tofu.
