#AskTheExpert my baby was a late preterm baby, his birth weight was 2.36 kg, he is 6.5 months now and 6.5kg in weight. What food can I give to him to help him gain weight asap. He hasn’t started sitting without support yet.

A baby will start Sitting with support by 6 months of age and by 7 to 8 months baby will sit without support than by 9 months usually baby crawls and in 10 months baby will stand with support. After 12 to 15 months baby will start Walking indephooendently and sometimes it may take even longer but in no case any Walker should be avoided as it can cause recurrent fall injury and delay in the walking because the child lacks confidence of walking independently
Give two liquid diet followed by milk
Give dal water seasonal fruits vegetables juice
At six months weight should be double to birth weight
