#asktheexpert my baby is 2.6 yrs old. after giving medicine nd nebuliser, her cough nd cold are not curing.... what i need to do..

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and ersxpectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor accordingf to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

keep her well hydrated by giving her a spoon of lukewarm water every hour when she's awake
use simply purified water having tds higher than the 350
take sunbathing daily with her head and ears covered
