Give nasal saline drops every few hourly to the child in the nasal cavity.
Try to prevent temperature variations around the child
You can go fcor indirect steam inhalation which will again help in decreasing both cough and cold
Continue the regular diet of the child
If there is no improvement in few days then meet your doctor
For fever and pain give paracetamol

Cold is most of the time because of some viral infection or allergic condition and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough along with throat irritation are  usually associated .
Treatment consists of antiallergic antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine .
As a home remedy steam inhalation would be very useful .
Medicines like wikoryl / tminic / Alex cold can be used  in a proper dose  for 3-5 days as per the btsymptoms .
Steam inhalation is repeated frequently .
