Q.

#asktheexpert My baby is 10months old and he is struggling with having solid foods. I give him pureed food which he eats happily, however when I try to give some solids he spits it out, or pushes it out with his tongue and then shuts his mouth tight and it becomes an impossible task. What should I do?

A. it is very common that during the initial one or two years the child might take liquid or semi solid diet. but you can always gradually shift to semi solid to solid diet with increasing consistency and yxou have to progress by 20% to 30% every few weeks. it is a learning process of swallowing as well as she is going by the child so do not worry and continue your efforts.x the child will learn the chewing process gradually because the child is always copying people around them
