Q.

#asktheexpert my baby got her 1st dose of influenza vaccine at 7 months and now she is 10 months forgot to vaccinate her 2nd dose in 8months.can she be given her 2nd dose now or should we need to vaccinate again her 1st dose again for the 2 nd to be given? read that 2nd dose should be given after 4weeks completion of 1st dose.

A. Influenza vaccine or the flu vaccine is basically a vaccine which protects against different strains of flu viruses including swine Flu virus which causes symptoms specially in children because of less immunity. Though it is not a mandatory vaccine but it should be given to every child to protect against different flu infection which is very common every year . this vaccine is given after 6 months of age and initially two doses are given one month apart then every year single dose is required . It is not documeggnted but still studies suggest that to some extent it may give partial protection against covid infection .
