#AskTheExpert My 4year child is not interested in eating anything. What shall I do?

A. Low appetite can be due to reasons like low zinc levels or too much dairy products or less gap between meals etc. Include ajwain , ginger, lemon or carrot juice, coconut water, curd with mint in the kid's meals to boost the appetite. South Indian rasam will also increase the appetite. You can also get a zinc syrup prescribed from your pediatrician. Sit with ur kid, serve the same food for both of u (less spicy for ur kid) and eat along. Avoid distraction like TV. Regular family meals will encourage the kid to eat instead of force feeding her.
