Q.

#AskTheExpert My 2.5 year old does not want to speak. She will sing rhymes but avoid speaking things like give me water, I am hungry etc unless she is very thirsty or hungry. What should I do?

A. Hello mom you need to stimulate her speech otherwise if once she gets into that habit, it would get really very difficult to get her out of it. Try to keep her among kids of her age. Let her interact with others , read some books for her. Try to engage in some conversation and if these things do not help. Try consulting a speech therapist.
