POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy3 years agoA. Passing of stool after each feed till 3-5 yrs is due to strong gastrocolic reflex. If the quantity is more and if its watery and baby is sick then need to be examined and medically treated. 5 stools over a day in normal consistency and volume is normal for this age.These are all normal stools. Breastfed babies often pass more than 6 stools per day. Until 2 months of age, they may pass a stool after each feeding. But, if stools suddenly increase in number and looseness, suspect diarrhea.First 3 months for children who are formula-fed — Expect two to three soft bowel movements daily. 6 months–1 year — Expect two bowel movements daily. 1–3 years — Expect one to two bowel movements daily. 4 years and older — Expect one bowel movement daily.Most babies have the occasional loose bowel movement, which is normal and is seldom a cause for concern. But if there's a sudden increase in the number of loose bowel movements or if your baby's stool suddenly becomes larger, looser, and more frequent, she may have diarrhea.

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy3 years agoA. Pooing after every feed is especially common if you're breastfeeding your baby. It's a sign that your baby is getting plenty of milk.
