Q.

#asktheexpert I am 17 weeks pregnant. I wanted to know what i heard is right. It is said that a pregnant lady should not sleep straight (only to the left or right side). And sleeping to the left is most recommended.

A. What you read is half true, You can sleep straight now but once you complete 24 weeks of pregnancy don’t sleep for more than 10 minutes in a straight position as it might lower your blood pressure. Ideal way is to sleep on sides but you can sleep straight too but not more than 10-15 minutes

A. Thanks for your response. Have another query. When i lie down straight, my thighs gets cramped. And it makes a little difficult to move my position to the side ways. Is it normal for all to get thigh cramps or else any recommendations for me.
