#AskTheExpert hii .. im 31 weeks preg. .. have gestational diabetes .. twice a day metformin tablets … from 4-5 days fasting sugar is between 95-102 .. please suggest if insulin is needed if fasting sugar is high or any other remedy ? Also tell the reasons of high fasting sugar when other levels in day comes fine.

gestational diabetes occurs during pregnancy due to hormonal fluctuations
it can be controlled through diet and medication or insulin if required
please consult a qualified dietitian and dont take random suggestions
i see a lot of such patients, each case is different and requires several follow ups.
keep fasting less than 100 and post prandial less than 130
