#AskTheExpert Hi!My premature baby is on BM and formula milk. He is not passing motion on his own until he is stimulated. He strains a lot while passing motion and gas. I had waited for 4,5 days also. He doesn't pass motion. How to make him pass motion on his own??

A. it is ok for the baby . Infants may not pass motion daily . It may be 2 to 3 days or may be up to 7 days . No need to use any medication as such but glycerine suppository can be used over the area for lubrication if baby not passed motion for 7 days

Q. #AskTheExpert Hello Doctor!My son is 2 months old and he was 32 weeks premature. He is under breast milk and formula milk as breast milk isn't enough.. He doesn't pass motion on his own. I gave him duphalac which worked. But I didn't want to continuously give him medicine . So I give him natural suppository every fourth day and he passes motion. Is there any other solution and is there any negative effect if keep giving natural suppository to make him pass motion everytime. Initial one month he was exclusively on BM and passed motion on his own. When will premature babies body becomes normal?
