A. I am sure your doctor has given you medicine to prevent vomiting. Please continue with that and consult your gynaecologist for further remedial measures.

A. Experiencing persistent vomiting during the first trimester of pregnancy, also known as morning sickness, can be challenging and distressing. Here are some tips to help manage and alleviate nausea and vomiting during pregnancy: 1. **Eat Small, Frequent Meals**: Instead of large meals, try eating small, frequent meals throughout the day. This can help prevent your stomach from becoming too full, which can contribute to nausea and vomiting. 2. **Stay Hydrated**: Sip on clear fluids such as water, herbal teas, or ginger ale throughout the day to stay hydrated. Dehydration can worsen nausea, so it's essential to drink fluids regularly. 3. **Avoid Trigger Foods**: Identify and avoid foods or smells that trigger your nausea. This can vary from person to person, but common triggers include spicy or greasy foods, strong odors, and foods with strong flavors. 4. **Ginger**: Ginger has natural anti-nausea properties and may help alleviate symptoms of morning sickness. You can try ginger tea, ginger ale, ginger candies, or ginger supplements under the guidance of your healthcare provider. 5. **Acupressure Bands**: Some women find relief from nausea and vomiting by wearing acupressure wristbands, which apply pressure to specific points on the wrist associated with nausea relief. 6. **Relaxation Techniques**: Stress and anxiety can worsen nausea, so practicing relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or prenatal yoga may help reduce symptoms. 7. **Medications**: If home remedies are not providing relief, talk to your healthcare provider about prescription medications that are safe to take during pregnancy to help manage nausea and vomiting. Ondansetron (Ondem) is one such medication, but there are other options available as well. 8. **Rest**: Make sure to get plenty of rest and avoid overexertion, as fatigue can exacerbate nausea and vomiting. 9. **Vitamin B6**: Some studies suggest that vitamin B6 supplements may help reduce nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Talk to your healthcare provider about whether this option may be appropriate for you. It's important to communicate openly with your healthcare provider about your symptoms and any concerns you may have. They can provide personalized guidance and recommendations based on your individual situation and may suggest additional interventions or treatments to help manage your symptoms effectively. Additionally, if you experience severe or persistent vomiting, dehydration, weight loss, or other concerning symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
