you can also put dry fruits and ghee and nuts and it's powder in the food, which will increase the weight of the child. take your children out to play because when there is good physical activity then only the child will have increased appetite. make child take fruit and its juice because it also increases natural appetite.
also it is important to note that wait gain as well as the overall growth of the child ddepends majorly on the genetics that is how were the parents had growth when they were at the same age as the child.

No this is not a very low weight gain this is a good weight gain that your child is having and it is not necessary for a child to eat non-veg you can give good vegetarian food to the child as well and that is going to be sufficient yet if you see that growth is poor then you have to have an assessment with your doctor
