#AskTheExpert hi doc, there’s a layer of dark skin at certain places on my baby which makes his skin tone very uneven. Is it because of keeping him in nicu after birth as he had jaundice wen born?? How do I make his skin tone even???

Sonam PrasadMom of 2 children3 years agoA. hi dear This difference in skin colour is due to melanin (the pigment in human skin). Dark-skinned babies have more melanin in their skin than light-skinned babies. Melanin is produced by cells called melanocytes and apart from skin, also gives our hair and eyes their colour.
