#AskTheExpert hello doctor my don is 3 years 1 month old. he is not speaking with sentences as other kids of his age. he identifies and tells the things name. he demands what he wants like "need water" "shall go out" etc. he is not speaking in lengthy sentences. most of the times he speaks irrelevant and meaningless. he can hear properly and follows instructions and mixes well with other kids. he is good at vocabulary but not in speech. do he need speech therapist?

A. as he is, above 3 years of age, you could take him to a speech therapist and get an evaluation done. There are numerous potential reasons for a speech delay/disorder they will manage accordingly.

A. Hi If your child is feeling well enough in understanding every thing then that is a good thing kids learn to frame sentences mostly after the age of 3 to 3 1/2 years I agree that a lot of kids start doing that earlier also but in most of the cases if the child learns to frame a sentence by the age of 3 1/2 to 4 years also it’s considered hundred percent normal
