Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello Doctor, My baby is 8 months old. She doesn't take breastmilk anymore. She has a strong aversion to my breastmilk now. I did exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months. Ever since I started solid foods, she herself started her weaning. And now she has completely stopped taking feed from me. She eats her solids very well. No issues regarding that. In fact, she prefers solids rather than breastmilk. I tried using breast pump. She gagged at the taste of breastmilk. Is this normal? Do I need to worry?

A. Yes it is normal, At first she'll eat solid food just once a day. By around 6 to 7 months, two meals a day is the norm. Starting around 8 to 9 months, she may be eating solid food three times a day.
