#AskTheExpert Hello doctor,my baby is 2.10 months old.wo breastfeeding karta tha but last 4 days se maine totally breastfeeding stop kiya hua h aur isse mujhe brest me bahut heavyness aur swelling ho rhi h..plzz suggest ki mujhe kya karna chaiye..thanks

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy2 years agoA. many times and the most common cause would be due to accumulation of milk clots and sometimes it can be neurogenic pain and sometimes it might be a part any local mass like lymph nodes or tissue pain.
if it is not imprdoving with simple massage as well as simple hot compresses and expression of accumulated milk then meet your doctor at the earliest for local examination.
you can take paracetamol for pain.

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy2 years agoA. If you're not breastfeeding, breast engorgement may likely go away by itself in 7 to 10 days as milk production ceases. In the meantime, you can apply ice packs for the swelling or take pain medication to help with the symptoms.
