Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. The first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having.
Give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food.
Keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the the child is having fever
Armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever
To body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water.
Higher medicines whether required or not will be told by the doctor.

if temperature is 100f or above,you must consult your pediatrician.
at home ,offer plenty of breastfeeds which help to keep your child well hydrated as well as it help your child to fight against viral or bacterial Infections.
