#AskTheExpert cold and cough for 6 months baby we have given Astakind-p 1ml drops is it ok

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 6 yr old girl4 years agoA. Sneezing and cough cold may be due ti seasonal changes and steam is effective in this . Also can be given as home remedy 2 to 3 times in a day . Asthakind ls can also be given 3 times for coughadn paracetamol for the fever .

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant broncghodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
