Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated sdymptoms like cough and fever which needs treatmentf accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children4 years agoA. If the cold is not very severe u can give a quick warm water bath abd dry the child immediately with a towel. She will feel fresh. But if u think it only bothers the child than helping then u may bathe him on alternate days and give towel bath on other days.
