#AskTheExpert 1. IUGR baby - The baby was 1.65kg during birth and 1.5kg after a week. Is it normal for the baby to weight less after birth than during birth ? 2. When can we start giving bath to baby ? is it ok to give bath at this weight ?

yes usually it is normal among newborns to shed their weight after few days of birth.
don't worry they regain it within 2 or 3 weeks of it.
please feed your child on demand.
you can give massage once umbilical cord is completely healed.
but as your child has low weight ,give it once he or she is gaining enough weight.(2 or 2.5 kg.)
