You can get pregnant immediately after giving birth also.
So it is better that you use some sort of contraception to avoid accidental pregnancy as even before periods ovulation can happen

For this to occur, they have to have sex near the time of ovulation, which occurs when the ovaries release an egg. The closer to their period a person ovulates, the higher their chances of becoming pregnant right after a period.
