More About The Name Sadako
Sadako is notably associated with a young Japanese girl, Sadako Sasaki, who is known for her tragic story and her role in promoting peace. She was a victim of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima during World War II. After surviving the initial bombing at the age of two, she developed leukemia at the age of 11 due to the radiation exposure. Sadako is remembered for her goal of folding 1,000 origami paper cranes in accordance with a Japanese legend that promises a wish fulfillment for such an accomplishment. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her illness before completing the challenge, but her classmates and others completed it in her honor.
