Q.

When my son has a fever, my doctor prescribes P250 and Taxim O suspension. However, the fever has not decreased for three days. What is the best medication for fever? Is there a brand issue with not reducing the fever. It would help us if you could suggest a good brand of medication.

A. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundred or emore is considered as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water. higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor. r
