normal weight depends on baby's birth weight. 8 month baby is 8 to 9 kg.
best way to track baby's growth is by plotting height and weight monthly on a growth chart.

Ideally the weight of eight months baby should be anywhere between 6.5 - 9 kgs..
If ur baby is active and playful then no need to worry about weight much.
