A. If your child has been bitten by a stray dog on the face and has already received two out of five rabies vaccinations, it is crucial to complete the full five-dose schedule as prescribed by the doctor. Completing all doses ensures full protection against rabies, which is a fatal disease if left untreated. After Completing 5 Doses: No additional rabies vaccine is needed unless another bite occurs in the future. If the dog was not vaccinated or its health is unknown, monitor for any symptoms and keep in touch with your doctor. A Tetanus shot (TT) might be needed if your child has not received it recently. Keep the wound clean and watch for signs of infection like redness, swelling, or pus. If your child is frequently around animals, you can discuss with your doctor about pre-exposure rabies vaccination for future protection. Let me know if you need more guidance!
