SanthoshiMom of a 8 yr 2 m old girl4 years agoA. Hi dear good morning Check if baby is gaining adequate weight. In the initial 3 months, babies put on about 1 kg each month. From 3-6 months, weight gain reduces to 1/2 kg/month. from 6-9 months, it becomes 1/3, and for 9-12 months, it settles to 1/4 kg. the birth weight doubles in the 4th month and triples when they reach 12 months of age if it's low Try to feed for longer duration. 15-20 mins each breast. This way baby will get balanced foremilk and hind milk. Foremilk comes in the beginning for 5-10 mins then comes the hind milk which is rich in fats and can help baby gain weight. So always empty a breast each
