Q.

sir after vaccination I give crocin to my baby which is 2month 15 days old in every 6 hours but temperature is 99.6 so what can I do can I give her in every 4 hours or what

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukefwarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy tfro decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

A. 99.6 is a very mild fever that your child is having don’t just get paranoid and start giving medicines every four hours when it is not recommended when you know that it is supposed to be given every six hours and you should be giving it every six hours onlyWrite Your Answer Here
