Q. my baby is 1 year 8 months old , but only says few words like papa , dada , kaak , peep peep , boo and doesn't speak any language . even if we say something she doesnt repeat the word. is it a normal behavior ? I am telugu and father is Bengali ,we both speak with our daughter in our own language since birth ..does if affect child's speech ?

Usually in household we use one language to let the child learn one language first and then by the age of 3 to 4 years you introduce other languages maybe both the parents are communicating in separate language is the child is getting confused I think it would be good for you to consult your doctor and discuss the issue with them in detail
